The Bahamas, with its more than 700 islands and over 2,400 cays, is a place where you can access a diversity of the landscape and explore the magical nature of the islands. Despite the fact that walking this whole island chain may seem like an outlandishly big idea, calculating the time given that it cannot be an exact science.
Apart from the first challenge of the Bahamas, which is their size, the complexity of issues related to providing water and electricity, and the distances create further complexities. There like it was covering every inch of the landscape and so diverse in the intensity like from the bustling streets of Nassau to the remote cays of the Exumas, toughening up would be needed because it involves climbs among the sandy beaches, dense forests, and rocky cliffs. Besides that, going ashore to various islands along the way would make the journey even more difficult, having to use boats or other transport instead of walking.
The second important fact is that many of the Bahamian islands are not accessible freely as they are either privately owned, or no one lives on them. This can be achieved only with an agreement from the local authorities, logistical planning, and consider to the needs of our accommodations.
With these facts being attributed, it can be safely said that the island would be a walk spanning through hundreds of kilometers, maybe centuries or even decades. And yet that very prospect will provide unmatched advantages to the daring enough to make the journey. I would definitely get to experience varied wild animal life in addition to discovering secret caves and unspoiled beaches during every other part of this trip.
Initially, I am well aware that taking a Bahamas on foot is a Sisyphean task, yet the beneficial part of the travel is in the process. Being a nature lover, I will be able to fully appreciate and capture every moment of a trip to the archipelago: from a walk along the wild shoreline to a stroll through a charming town. Each second will bring you some near experience of the natural nature and colourful traditions of this incredibly beautiful group of islands. Hence, even though it all seems so hard to engage in a yearlong walking experience along all the Bahamas, the unlikely thrill at the prospects of discovery is what really lures the stouthearted and enthusiastic explorers.
